Located directly north of the City in the narrow stretch of Henrico that joins the eastern and western halves of the county, the central Henrico area is home to the neighborhoods that abut Bryan Park, Jefferson Lakeside Country Club/Belmont Golf Course and The Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. Chamberlayne Farms is another prominent neighborhood within the area.
Lakeside, as much of what 32 is more commonly called, is a county neighborhood that feels more like what one would expect to find in the city limits. Lakeside and the Bryan Parkway neighborhood has an element of walkability, narrower lots and home styles of the 1940’s, due to the age of the development.

Lakeside remains a popular option due to its proximity to the City yet lower tax base and because it has been in the midst of a rebirth with the retail section along Lakeside Avenue rebounding from decades of decline. The Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens (an integral part of Lakeside) also has expanded its footprint and upgraded its facilities and is home to such events as the Groovin’ in the Garden concert series which has brought some surprisingly big name acts in the past several years.
